Unidentified assailants set fire to the Brogi Girls School in the Darel area of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) and abducted the security guard. Police launched an investigation to find the perpetrators.
Unidentified attackers burnt down at least 12 schools in the area earlier this year, spreading fear among residents and causing fear of an attack by arsonists who set fire to them.
Police said that at least half of the burnt schools were girls-only schools. The schools were constructed to encourage education in the area, where literacy rates are low.
